Check out the Park’s first Murama Teachmeet transforming indigenous learning in schools!

What’s Murama?

Glad you asked; Murama is a series of youth led events connecting young people from around Australia and overseas to celebrate and share indigenous cultures.

During NAIDOC week, Sydney Olympic Park hosted a unique Murama professional development event, the Murama Teachmeet.

Over 80 teachers came to the Park joining hundreds online to share together on empowering and engaging Indigenous young people at school.

The event created such a buzz on social media that #Murama was the #1 trending topic in Sydney and #5 Australia wide!

What better way for us to tell you more about this amazing initiative, than let you check it out in this short video:

The Murama Teachmeet was coordinated by our Education team in collaboration with StoryMotive and Accor’s National Indigenous Strategy Unit, along with contributions from many inspiring speakers and organisations.
