The Park is blossoming!

P2011_000413__H6X5165It’s that time of year again, when our Manchurian Pear trees start to blossom, marking a special occasion for us at Sydney Olympic Park.

Did you know that Manchurian Pear trees were specially planted around the town centre as they are one of the  first trees to flower in September – the time when the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games were staged.

Today is the 14th anniversary since “the best Games ever” and it is great to see the Park continuing to blossom in all aspects!

We will be lighting the Olympic Cauldron from 10am to 3pm, so come down to Cathy Freeman Park if you are in the neighbourhood to see this unique spectacle.
