With over 430 hectares of parklands at Sydney Olympic Park, there is certainly plenty of turf to keep green and healthy for the community to come and enjoy!

As you may know from personal experience with your front or backyard, keeping turf healthy isn’t as simple as the regular mow. There is a fair bit of work that goes into keeping turf healthy, particularly when you have the amount of visitors enjoying each leaf of it, as we do.

Over the next week Sydney Olympic Park Authority will be undertaking some turf works including aeration, herbicide applications to remove weeds, top dressing and fertilising.

Locations of the turf work are Cathy Freeman Park; Wentworth Common; Bicentennial Park village green; Jacaranda Square; Blaxland Riverside Park; Newington Amory Wharf; and the Heritage Gardens near Herb Elliott Avenue.

If you see the work underway, we appreciate your cooperation with staying off the turf while we complete these tasks, to make it turf-riffic!
