This is all now possible at the interactive playground that is ANZ Stadium.
Thanks to a partnership with Telstra and internationally-renowned stadium Wi-Fi provider Cisco, fans can get connected for free and lose themselves in the action on-field and online.
ANZ Stadium is the first stadium in Australasia to offer free Wi-Fi to ALL fans in and around the Stadium precinct, including the venue’s Sydney Olympic Park surrounds – keep an eye out for the #scorefreewifi signs placed across the area of connectivity in, around and outside of ANZ Stadium.
This #scorefreewifi initiative was launched at the NRL Round 1 triple-header, with thousands of footy lovers across the three games diving into the new Wi-Fi service and bringing their offline and online event experiences together.
Feedback was overwhelmingly positive with tweets like:
“#scorefreewifi outstanding easily the best player all weekend. Loved the ease and convenience”
“Loving @ANZStadium free wifi whilst I wait for the footy”
“Enjoying the free wifi. Well done,@ANZStadium. Hopefully other Aussie stadiums follow suit #nrlcbybri #scorefreewifi”
With more than 700 wireless access points, the ANZ Stadium network has been configured in a similar manner to Metlife Stadium, New York, which in February became the first Superbowl host to provide a high-speed Wi-Fi service. Over the next 18 months, ANZ Stadium will progressively roll-out new features and rich digital content with the new Wi-Fi technology.
From receiving instant replays and game statistics, through to being able to order food and beverage from seats, as well as receiving live traffic updates, the progressive rollout aims to enhance the live event experience for fans in and around ANZ Stadium.
